Now Foods Claims

Xyliwhite toothpaste is marketed as a fluoride-free toothpaste that uses natural Xylitol as the primary oral bacteria-fighting ingredient. It is designed to improve the health of teeth, causing them to be both stronger and whiter. Makers also state that it is free of chemicals and formulated with the cleanest ingredients. Overall, the average consumer looking at this product would probably think that this is a natural alternative to the harsh chemical containing kinds of toothpaste.

Now Foods Toothpaste Ingredients

Claiming to be all natural does not hold true when reading the label. Now Foods toothpaste contains hydrated silica and potassium sorbate as well as other potentially questionable ingredients. While this product states that it does not include the harmful ingredient sodium lauryl sulfate, it does contain sodium coco sulfate that is almost the same thing as SLS, but it is not yet tested to make sure it is bad for humans. Since it ‘s hard to find toothpaste without sodium lauryl sulfate, Now Foods marketing claims they don’t use SLS, but they use sodium coco sulfate which is unknown substance to me at this moment. Another potentially harmful ingredient is carrageenan. This is an ingredient that’s extracted from seaweed and, while being natural, has been shown to cause inflammation and other potentially dangerous diseases. Both of these ingredients should give consumers a reason to avoid and question Xyliwhite toothpaste claims of all-natural.

Poor Results
Some of the people who use this product were simply unhappy with their results. Although the toothpaste claims to whiten teeth naturally, it just appeared to make them shiny without removing any of the surface stains. Others who tried Now Foods product were similarly unhappy and found that the toothpaste was not effective at cleaning teeth, leaving behind bad bacteria. However, while this toothpaste makes large claims, it is also one of the more expensive types on the market today. Overall, consumers were heartbroken with the poor results that they got for the high price tag.

Now Foods toothpaste may also cause problems for those with sensitive mouths. Anyone who has sensitive gums or teeth pain will probably not have the best results using this toothpaste. The high amount of xylitol appeared to irritate the area and was not a real solution for decreased inflammation.

Overall, NOW Foods xyliwhite toothpaste is not going to live up to its claims. It does contain a number of controversial chemicals or other possibly dangerous ingredients. Consumers should also be careful when reading the health claims as this toothpaste may not provide a cleaning and whitening benefits shown on the label. While using a natural toothpaste is important to many people, this may not be the best option for these reasons.
