Green Beaver Toothpaste - Natural Toothpaste
A friend of my sends me a link to check The Green Beaver Company. The Green Beaver Company is a Canadian family company. Their beliefs are that the best ingredients are natural ingredients. The company has an eco certificate. The Green Beaver Company is really natured friendly company. Their philosophy is that humans can live happily and in harmony with mother nature. Green Beaver produce toothpaste, but they are also producing other products. Products like deodorants, sunscreens, hair care, body lotions, Castile soaps, lip balms, and many other natural products. But in this review, we will only focus on Green Beaver toothpaste.
By reading their philosophy and how they see mother nature, I was expecting that this toothpaste will be highly rated. But from the start, I will say that I m disappointed. But after all, owners, are ex-pharmaceutic employees. What can you expect from someone who works with chemistry? They just can’t run away from chemicals. But let’s talk first about good things.
Good Things About Green Beaver Toothpaste
Green Beaver company produces many types of toothpaste. They have Green Apple Toothpaste, Cinnamon Toothpaste, Frosty Mint Toothpaste, Cilantro Mint Toothpaste, Sensitive Teeth Toothpaste, Spearmint Toothpaste, Star Anis Toothpaste, and Zesty Orange Toothpaste. Some of this toothpaste is labeled for kids, but I didn’t see any difference in ingredients between toothpaste that is for kids and adult toothpaste. All type of toothpaste is vegan-friendly and biodegradable, some of them are even gluten-free. I need to say that Green Beaver Toothpaste is free from Fluoride, SLS, and triclosan. And that is all about good things, let jump on bad things.
Bad Stuff About Gren Beaver Toothpaste
The Bad thing is that this toothpaste uses as root, a simple formula many other natural brands use. I won’t go through each of the problematic ingredients. Ingredients like Silica and Xylitol. These ingredients are not a major concern. Silica is just not needed in toothpaste and Xylitol is poison for dogs. Xylitol is actually alcohol.
If I want to clean my teeth with alcohol, I will use Vodka or Whiskey. But Green Beaver Toothpaste have bigger chemical problems.
Xantham Gum is artificial sweetener derived from fermented sugar. Xanthan Gum purpose in toothpaste is to make it sweeter, in other words, more people would buy tasty toothpaste. But in other words, you are just adding more sugar in your mouth. So if you have diabetes, or you are pregnant, you should better avoid toothpaste containing Xanthan Gum.
Sorbitol is another artificial sweetener. This toothpaste is made to be sweet. It is made to be sold, not to improve natural toothpaste brands or help your health.
Calcium Ascorbate is also a questionable ingredient. Some people can get allergic to this ingredient. If you get diarrhea, vomiting or other allergic symptoms, then stop using toothpaste with Calcium Ascorbate and see if that has triggered your allergic reaction.
Overall I admire small companies that try to make products as natural as possible. But this is not a 100% natural product. It contains some chemicals that are made in the laboratory. And to be sad, these chemicals are actually not needed for teeth cleaning. They are added to make more sells. Because people love, sweet things.
