Dr. Mercola's Natural Toothpaste
Dr. Mercola toothpaste uses many fascinating and new elements
Calcium carbonate is one of those ingredients. It is used for cleaning teeth, and it is also an excellent remineralization component. But I m not sure if you need remineralization component if you are living a healthy life. By healthy life, I mean that you don’t eat any processed food and live mostly on plants since meat and milk also make problems to teeth. New studies show that animal protein increase acid in the blood. But our body is designed to keep a balanced PH, so it will use calcium to bring blood alkaline to balance. And where is calcium in our body? In our bones and teeth. So milk and animal proteins are bad for your bones and teeth.
Xylitol is not dangerous for humans, but it is very hazardous to dogs. Personally, I avoid toothpaste with xylitol because I don’t want to poison my best friend accidentally. Some scientist claims that only a few drops of toothpaste that contains xylitol can kill a dog.
Sodium bicarbonate or more known by baking soda is one of the ingredients that all natural toothpaste brands should use. Baking soda has so many good things for human health. It is not only good for your teeth, but it is also good for your health overall. Baking soda can bring down any acid to neutral. Some people use it when they have heartburn, and it works.
Sodium Lauroyl Lactylate is much better than Sodium Lauryl Sulfate because it is much gentle and is also listed as the safe ingredient. But I must say that there is not much info about this ingredient.
Carrageenan is the only dangerous component in this toothpaste. If they didn’t use this carcinogenic part, this toothpaste would be a real thing for people that care about their health. But like always, this scientist need to put some bad stuff in it. Because if they would be selling real things then everyone would buy it.
Dr. Mercola’s Natural Toothpaste uses many different types of oils. There are fresh breath mixed oils. Essential oil of peppermint, eucalyptus, cardamom, and anise. Tulsi and tea tree oils are used for healing teeth. All oils are natural oils, so there is no concern in that. Also, Dr. Mercola uses stevia leaf extract as a sweetener. Stevia is a great plant, and if you can buy it, you should use stevia instead of regular unhealthy sugar.
Dr. Mercola toothpaste is free of fluoride and only that make it better than any other conventional toothpaste. But Dr. Mercola toothpaste has only one problematic ingredient.
Carrageenan is the only thing that will bring rates to Dr . Mercola toothpaste down. If they just drop this unneeded component, this toothpaste would be great for daily usage.
Amazon.com product page has a wrong ingredient list, they say that this toothpaste contain Carrageenan and I didn’t pay enough attention to see that this toothpaste is free from Carrageenan. I am sorry, but I am only human and I make mistakes. This one is not the last one I made. But thanks to our active reader’s mistake will be fixed and the truth will be told. I am also contacting Amazon.com to let them know that this toothpaste has false info on their website. Anyway, I am raising the rating for DR Mercola Natural Mint Toothpaste and this toothpaste is really good for everyday usage.
